CW Activity: all day, every day

Besides contests, there are a number of programs and activities that encourage CW operation at all times. Following is a listing of some that might be of interest to HTC members.
In addition to the contests, there are a number of activity programs that can liven up CW operation at any time. Below is a list of some activities that might be of interest to HTC members.

The Top 9 Activity
In Top9 any 5-minute contact is OK at any time. You may even have several 5-minute contacts in a row with the same station on the same band. Frequencies: Top 9 kHz of the CW-only bands. To initiate a contact you may find CQ callers scanning the Reverse Beacon Network, you may invite a friend by phone, or you may just call CQ the old-fashioned way. You may use remote stations, you may call on two bands simultaneously, do whatever is adequate to make CW heard on air.

  New QRQ website for interested parties

Dear OMs,

I would like to introduce an attractive website for QRQ-OMs to the HTC. There is a new website to promote high-speed telegraphy. Fabian, DJ1YFK, and Olaf, DL1OP (President of the SHSC/EHSC), have set up a page where high-speed telegraphers can find each other. The new "European QRQ Point 3567 kHz ( E QP )" is intended as a meeting point for fast telegraphers in Europe. EQP-Web
The goals are (quote): To encourage amateur radio operators to "visit" us on 3567 kHz and to telegraph quickly and in plain text - To enable uncomplicated coordination of activities via the "Shoutbox" - To disseminate links and further information about speed telegraphy.
The website has been online for a few days now. The corresponding call sign DA0EQP (https://www.qrz.com/db/da0eqp) has already been assigned by the authorities and is active.
It is important to mention that this meeting point is *not* intended solely for the "Super-QRQ", but that *all* (plain text) high-speed telegraphers are warmly welcome.

Promoting friendship among telegraphers. The aim is simply to maintain conversation, far from any contest hustle and bustle and largely on frequencies that are explicitly exempt from contest operation by the band plan. Work is carried out in the telegraphy segment on the upper 5 kHz of all amateur radio bands. Each QSO lasts at least 10 minutes. QSOs with one and the same station may be strung together, even without a break.
AGCW-DL Bug and Cootie Activity
Goal: To promote stress-free and regular CW activity with semi-automatic bugs or sideswipers (cooties), away from pile-ups and contests, as well as to revitalize the upper CW band segments. Only connections in which the operator has used a straight key (bug) or a sideswiper (cootie) count for the activity. Which key the partner station uses is completely irrelevant. No special formats or keys for CQ calls are prescribed, but for the center frequency 5 kHz below the end of the CW-exclusive range, participants in this activity are encouraged to also call with a bug or cootie, for example, on 7.035 kHz ± 250 Hz is highly recommended, in order to also delight the CW community with the beautiful sound of these keys during the CQ call.
EUCW Snakes and Ladders Activity
Welcome to Snakes And Ladders (S+L). This is the only activity on air which is hosted and organized by the EUCW. All friends of EuCW may take part in this. This activity is centered on Europe, you do not have to reach faraway continents. You are not penalized in this activity if you have a common prefix, your call sign is as good as any other in this game. Be on air whenever you feel like being on air, there is no time limit. If you just want to be a general supporter of this activity, please be on the air on all CW bands, preferably in the upper part of the CW bands, far away from the hunting and DX biz. Likewise, there are no constraints about the format of the qso, the gaming part is based on 4digit locators but if you know the locator of your qso partner, you do not have to exchange it on air. QSOs must last at least five minutes, stations must be European stations. If you want to be a formal participant you have to * be on air in CW and work at least one European station per month * have an email account * be able to produce an electronic log in ADIF format. That's all. The first of these three conditions is not negotiable but you are not obliged to send a log every month. All logs received in a monthly period of activity, will be merged into a monthly "master log". Locator squares only appearing once in this master log, shall be candidate ladders. From the candidate ladders, one ladder is selected at random for every five candidate ladders. Locator squares appearing more than five times in the master log, shall be candidate ladders.
